Getting to know Annika PART ONE All of her answers about her personal childhood are not how she would answer, but if she were to open up to someone however, this is how she would answer those questions.
Part 1: The Basics
1. What is your full name?
Annika Patience Axelsson
2. Where and when were you born?
March 28, 1981. La Porte, IN. Though technically Chicago since that’s where the hospital was.
3. Who are/were your parents?
Filip Axelsson, who divorced my mother and remarried months after my little brothers death. My Step-Mother, Olivia Jackson-Axelsson, though I don’t agree with what they did, I love my little sister Emma, and Olivia is great! My mother Hulda Axelsson nee Berg (She hasn’t gotten around to changing her last name yet) lives in Denver with her live in boyfriend, Jacob Peters. I don’t care for him, but he also hasn’t tried to get to know me at all. It doesn’t help that he’s only two years older than me and thinks that makes us automatic friends.
4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
There’s Emma, my half sister, who’s a little peach I love her to death but she is spoiled like no other. She’s always involved in problems in La Porte, where she goes to high school. I’m worried about her, but there’s not a lot I can really do. My brother Klas. He died when he was eight from Kawasaki’s Disease. He was six when he was diagnosed. There was only a .01% mortality rate in children with KD, but that’s what I learned from Klas, it has to happen to someone, who says it won’t be me? I was only 10 when he died.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
I live in Scarlet Oak, MI. I should probably live in Ann Arbor where my job is, but I like smaller towns like Scarlet Oak. I live above an Italian restaurant in a decent part of town. it’s a two bedroom apartment with one and a half baths, and a living/kitchen/dining room in one. It’s two floors. You go up next to the restaurant door, and it’s a flight of stairs to the living room, the kitchen is to the right and the half bath is in a little cubby in the back. Go around the living room, and it’s the second set of stair, take those up, there’s a loft, a full bath and the bigger room to the left, and a smaller room to the right. I use the bigger room as my bedroom (Though bigger is relative) and the smaller room as my office. It’s extremely messy in there, all of my research for my current assignment is everywhere.
6. What is your occupation?
Journalist for AnnArbor.com. The only newspaper in Ann Arbor, as an expose journalist. I’m on my first assignment with them, so its not too permanent yet.
7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
I’m 5 ft. 6 1/2 inches tall, and I weigh 142 pounds last I checked. I figure most of it’s muscle. Or at least that’s what I tell myself. I’m 100% Swedish, blonde hair and blue-green, almond shaped eyes. A square jawline and prominent cheek bones. I usually wear business attire as often as possible, I want the male journalists to realize that I am just as competent as they are in the same job, and that I can probably do it better. i do favor dresses and pretty things, but so does a lot of people. I’m sure I have some scars and birthmarks, but they aren’t really important or exciting stories. I was bitten by a Rottweiler when I was about 15, and that left a scar on my left thigh, I think I still have- yes I do- a scar in my shin from a razor accident when I was 12 and wasn’t supposed to shave my legs yet.
8. To which social class do you belong?
Middle suburbanite through and through
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
I’m allergic to peanuts, but that’s it
10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Right handed.
11. What does your voice sound like?
Like this, I guess.
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
“Oh heavens” since I used to get in a lot of trouble using the lord’s name in vain from my grandmother. It just sort of stuck after that.
13. What do you have in your pockets? I don’t tend to keep things in my pockets... My purse always has a mini notebook and pen, lipgloss a wallet, and my cell phone
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
I hardly ever keep what I’m feeling inside, some people call me brash, but I know what I want dammit and I’m not going to sit around wasting time for someone to give it to me. Also I tend to leave messages and texts in my personal code without realizing it. People tend to get annoyed with me about that since thy just have to end up calling me anyway.
Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
I would say it was very...sad and tumultuous. My brother died when I was ten, then my parents divorced, then I had a sister a few months after that. When I was older I realized that meant my dad was cheating on my mom before the divorce. I hated him for a long time after that. I always was a bit angry with my parents for never giving me any time. I had just lost my baby brother, and they seemed to only care about themselves. I’m still a little bitter, but I let them both know. Poor Olivia though, she had had no idea my dad was married at the time, only that he was recently divorced. They married for Emma, and ended up being happy. But I never really enjoyed high school either, I wasn’t very popular and it was just a generally unpleasant experience.
16. What is your earliest memory?
I guess one day in preschool when we were talking about something that had happened the previous week and I couldn’t remember anything at all. I remember thinking how odd that was.
17. How much schooling have you had?
I have a masters in Mass Media
18. Did you enjoy school?
College after freshman year
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
School, where I majored in Journalism. My elemtental abilities I learned mostly from my grandmother, but in middle school I didn’t want to be a freak so I stopped taking lessons. My mother tried to stoke that fire a bit but it never worked and usually ended with me leaving the house and her having a glass of wine.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
I didn’t really have role models. There were people I thought were pretty and wanted to look like, but that was it.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
I get along great with my sister, Emma, and my step-mother, Olivia. I used to get along with my grandmother really well
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A doctor, but that sort of went down the drain...
23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
I think I remember playing house with Klas a lot, and then Emma when she was around.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I was very shy and withdrawn and very attachable to people. I was very stubborn, and always wanted to go my own way. I was easily distracted in classes that I already knew information in, so I was also a merely average student. I always wanted what we didn’t have the money to get, and I wouldn’t settle for knockoffs. Hence the stubborn nature. I also was overly cautious. I swam with floaties until I was ten because I was afraid of drowning, and I had a late start with swimming classes.
25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
I was certainly not popular, my classmates called me space cadet since I was always staring off into space in class. But I just was bored with the material. I had a few friends in middle school. And in high school they were the same people. We lost touch during college though.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss? Lawrence Foster, he kissed me as a dare consequence on our eighth grade trip
27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
Vince Morales, at Amanda Zimkowski’s post-graduation party
28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
I was born one. |
